Some things are better the second time
around, and Illinois National Bank in Springfield, Illinois is one of them. A series of bank mergers
and acquisitions in the late 1990's led to the near extinction of locally owned banks. Illinois National
Bank, with over 100 years of service, was one of the casualties of that era.
Recognizing a void, a group of local investors and former Illinois National Bank employees set about
forming a new, locally-owned financial institution. Illinois National Bank (INB) opened its doors for the
second time on June 21, 1999. Under the leadership of Richard K. McCord, James V. Antonacci and the late
Linda Culver, INB promised to bring back a traditional high level of banking service and responsiveness
to the Springfield market.
Illinois National Bank is a $360 million locally owned bank, managed by a group of 61 individual investors. Members of the board of directors include Richard K. McCord, James V. Antonacci, James P. Bruner, William F. Cellini, Peter B. Fox, Richard H. Levi, Timothy J. Nicoud, Carolyn B. Oxtoby, Sergio (Satch) Pecori and Charles E. Robbins.
Illinois National Bank provides a full range of traditional banking services to individuals and businesses, including commercial and retail banking, trust and brokerage, cash management, Internet banking and remittance processing.
Central Illinois has accepted the reincarnation of INB with arms wide open. The success story found at
Illinois National Bank proves that when tradition meets financial innovation, great things will happen.
