    About INB

    Our History

The original Illinois National Bank was established August 10, 1886, in Springfield, Illinois. It was on the north side of the Old State Capital Plaza and served the capital city until it was purchased by an out-of-state financial institution in 1993. All of the original employees and many of the Directors of the current Illinois National Bank were employees and Directors of that established Springfield institution.
After various mergers throughout the 1990s - and feeling like there was a void in the business community - the group of employees and shareholders formed to bring back the community bank to Central Illinois.
On June 21, 1999, Illinois National Bank opened the doors to a flood of community support.
The second generation of INB quickly grew to be one of the most highly regarded community banks in Central Illinois. INB was the first in town to offer online banking for consumers, online images of checks to business and consumers, text alerts, positive pay, payment pages and image lockbox.
Now operating 11 branches and a remittance processing center, Illinois National Bank is a locally owned, privately held financial institution with a team of shareholders, directors and members of the senior management team that all reside in central Illinois, keeping the decision-making process at the local level.
INB provides a full range of traditional banking services to individuals, businesses and government entities, with special emphasis on the commercial and government sectors.
At Illinois National Bank, we work every day to help our customers minimize financial pressures and enjoy better lives. As a partner, our goal is to be the best bank and serve our customers by living our core values. Illinois National Bank is…
Creative: We are constantly coming up with creative solutions for customers and processes. Whether it is a unique solution to dispersing funds to a large group of people, creative loan structure to reduce costs and undertake a new project, or a new process to collect a company’s receivables faster or invest their extra funds to earn more money, we strive for innovation to provide better solutions for our customers.
Team: No other organization works as closely together as the INB Team. We have been working together from Day One and realize that respect, cooperation and hard work from everyone creates the best environment and result for our customers.
Balance: At INB, our team members are our family. We help each of them to meet personal and professional goals by achieving life balance.
Working Smart: Our team looks at each day as an opportunity to learn and be independent in our thinking. When working together with INB, you will always receive an honest answer and you will experience a type of innovative thinking that differs from other financial institutions.
Aggressive and Enthusiastic: We are eager and want to help everyone in our community. We reach for our goals with enthusiasm and courage. Whether it is working with a not-for-profit to feed hungry children or stepping into the market with new technology, we aren’t afraid to do the right thing and be the first to do it.
